Prepare to be awed by the Materuni Waterfall, one of the tallest and most scenic waterfalls in the Kilimanjaro region. The 70 - 90-meter cascade drops into a refreshing natural pool surrounded by dense greenery and birdsong.
A guided hike to the waterfall takes you through banana and coffee plantations, with panoramic views of the mountains – and if the skies are clear, the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro might make an appearance.
Tip: Don’t forget your swimsuit – brave souls can take a dip in the cool waters beneath the falls!

☕ From Bean to Cup – The Materuni Coffee Tour
Materuni is home to the Chagga people, expert cultivators of 100% organic Arabica coffee. Join a local guide for an immersive coffee-making experience – from picking and roasting to grinding and brewing your own fresh cup.
This is not just a demo – it’s a hands-on cultural celebration, often accompanied by traditional songs and dancing!
Fun Fact: Chagga coffee is shade-grown on volcanic soil, giving it a rich, full-bodied flavor you won’t forget.

🤝 A Cultural Experience Like No Other
At the heart of Materuni is its warm, welcoming community. Guests are invited to explore Chagga traditions, enjoy local meals, taste banana beer, and learn about indigenous plants and customs.
“Materuni felt like stepping into a postcard – but better. It was real, warm, and unforgettable.” – A happy traveler

Materuni is open and welcoming all year long! Each season brings a unique experience:
January – March: Lush green landscape, occasional rains, clear skies for Kilimanjaro views.
April – May (Rainy Season): Heaviest rainfall – trails may be muddy but the waterfall is at its most powerful.
June – October (Dry Season): Best for hiking, dry trails, and sunny days. Very popular season.
November – December: Short rains begin, everything is fresh and green again. Good mix of comfort and beauty.
🌦️ Tip: Bring a light rain jacket year-round – weather near Kilimanjaro can change quickly!

About Us
Hi again, I’m Boni, a local guide from Materuni Village, a small, beautiful place tucked into the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. This isn’t a tour from a brochure. This is my home where I was born, where I walk every day. Where the sound of the waterfall mixes with the laughter of children and the aroma of roasting coffee. When you book a tour with me, you don’t just visit, you connect. You learn our stories. You meet real people. You feel the rhythm of our land and our culture. Come walk beside me, and see Tanzania through the eyes of someone who calls it home.
