A guided hike to the waterfall takes you through banana and coffee plantations, with panoramic views of the mountains – and if the skies are clear, the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro might make an appearance.

Tip: Don’t forget your swimsuit – brave souls can take a dip in the cool waters beneath the falls!

📅 When to Visit Materuni – Year-Round Tips

Materuni is open and welcoming all year long! Each season brings a unique experience:

January – March: Lush green landscape, occasional rains, clear skies for Kilimanjaro views.

April – May (Rainy Season): Heaviest rainfall – trails may be muddy but the waterfall is at its most powerful.

June – October (Dry Season): Best for hiking, dry trails, and sunny days. Very popular season.

November – December: Short rains begin, everything is fresh and green again. Good mix of comfort and beauty.

🌦️ Tip: Bring a light rain jacket year-round – weather near Kilimanjaro can change quickly!

About Us

Hi again, I’m Boni, a local guide from Materuni Village, a small, beautiful place tucked into the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. This isn’t a tour from a brochure. This is my home where I was born, where I walk every day. Where the sound of the waterfall mixes with the laughter of children and the aroma of roasting coffee. When you book a tour with me, you don’t just visit, you connect. You learn our stories. You meet real people. You feel the rhythm of our land and our culture. Come walk beside me, and see Tanzania through the eyes of someone who calls it home.
